The Savage Dragon universe has more heroes than you can shake a stick at!
Here is a look at some of the major cast members of the more recent
issues of Savage Dragon:

The hero of the story. Dragon' origin has yet to be told--he was
discovered in a burning field in Chicago. He
was fully grown and had a complete memory of everything except for who he was and where he was
from. In the years that followed Dragon went through various career changes
which included becoming a member of the Chicago police force, a bounty
hunter, a government super-team member, and a semi-retired super-hero.
Dragon now permanently resides in an alternate universe after being sent there
by the time traveling villain, Darklord.

Jennifer discovered her super-human strength when her powers were
trigged by her first husband, Kevin (Angel's father). Kevin was abusive to
the family, and when she tried to defend Angel, her powers were triggered and she
accidentally killed him with a super-powered blow to the head. Dragon (during
his stint on the police force) helped Jennifer through that tough point in her
life.
Eventually Dragon and Jennifer fell in love. As time went on, and attacks on Dragon by his foes increased,
it became too much for Jennifer and she felt it was unsafe for her young
daughter so she left. Years later, after Dragon defeated Khan, Jennifer
came back to Chicago and was reunited with Dragon. The two married and became
active members of the Liberty League--mostly concentrating their efforts to cleaning up the
Danger Zone. Jennifer has since lost her power after being touched by the
villain Negate.

Jennifer Dragon's daughter from her marriage prior to Dragon. Angel
is always getting into trouble and causing grief for Dragon. She usually tags
along with her mom and step-dad during their super hero adventures. Her best
friend is Ba-Goom who she affectionately renamed "Mr. Glum" . She treats him
like one of her dolls and never takes him seriously.

Ba-goom hails from a planet in the Void--a planet where he is the most powerful
being. Ba-goom wants to prove himself all-powerful by defeating the Earth hero
known as Dragon. Though he is able to enter Dragon's house by a teleportation
device, his threat is not taken serious. Angel finds him and treats him as
though he is a doll (Ba-Goom is the size of a child's doll). For a
while Dragon didn't even realize that Glum was anything but one of Angel's play
things.
Glum has tried to kill Dragon several times without success. Both Dragon and
Angel seem to think that the little guy is harmless, Jennifer is not
so sure. Glum has a deep affection for Angel but still seems to want to
defeat Dragon.

Malcolm Eugene
Dragon, is a child that Dragon conceived with his former girlfriend, the
super-heroine, Rapture; while still in Dragon's original universe. The villain Darklord was able to trick the couple into thinking
that the child died at birth--meanwhile, Darklord was raising him with the rest
of the super-powered children that he kidnapped as part of an evil scheme.
Dragon met Malcolm for a short while during the period of time when
he was able to revisit his original universe with the aid of the Eternal
Youth's reality-jumping portal. After a majority of the Eternal Youths were killed in a
vicious battle, Dragon lost his ability to travel back to his old universe.
When the enormous alien being known as Universo devoured the Earth from
Dragon's original reality, Malcolm and other super-powered children were saved
by mysterious figures who pushed them through a portal into the Void. Malcolm
remains in the Void to this day.
Eventually Rex Dexter, developed a way to create a portal to Dragon's
old universe without having to use the power of the Eternal Youths. When Dragon entered the portal, he found the results of Universo's
visit--the Earth was completely destroyed with only charred pieces or rock left
floating in space. Deeply saddened, Dragon returned to the reality he now calls
home believing that his son died with everyone else that he knew from his former
universe.

Johnny Armstrong was an American soldier during World War II when he
was captured by the German army. The Germans, in an attempt to create a
super powered soldier, used their prisoners as guinea pigs and Johnny Armstrong,
was their first subject. Through the experiments, Armstrong gained super human
strength and a slowed aging process. Eventually Armstrong, used his new powers to
level the compound where he was being held, making sure that the Nazis could
never duplicate their experiment on one of their own. Going under the
moniker of SuperPatriot, Armstrong has been fighting crime Ever since his
transformation.
In the early 1990's SuperPatriot was brutally mauled by the then Vicious
Circle member Mako. Near death, SuperPatriot's body was rebuilt with cutting edge
cybernetic technology allowing his new metal limbs to
transform into various weapons with only a thought.
When the villain Sebastian Khan took over the world he also gained
control of SuperPatriot. SuperPatriot remained a pawn of Khan's, until Dragon
defeated the dictator and his control of technology . SuperPatriot has since joined the new Liberty League.

Mighty Man is actually
an ancient entity that was created by a mysterious wizard named Fon-Ti to
battle the forces of evil throughout the centuries. The entity is passed through
human hosts giving them the ability to morph into a man with god-like abilities.
Despite it's great power, the Mighty Man entity cannot sustain itself and the
host must eventually return to human form for substance and rest.
In the 1990's Robert Berman, the Mighty Man entity's human host since 1940, was brought to a hospital emergency
room after being badly beaten by thugs when a local newspaper photographer discovered
and revealed his identity. Berman, old and brutally beaten, passed on the Mighty
Man entity to his nurse, Ann Stevens, just before dying. Berman actually
thought he was giving his powers to his grandson, a selfish teenager who never bothered to visit
his dying grandfather, but who dreamed of exploiting the Mighty Man powers .
Ann never realized that she obtained the Mighty Man entity until Dragon found
her and showed her that clicking her wrists would cause her to transform into
Mighty Man. (Dragon knew the secret of Mighty Man from the time spent in his
original universe). Since then Ann, as Mighty Man, has helped Dragon save the
world from evil various times. Mighty Man has since joined the Liberty League.

Amy
Belcher's father was struck with a strange chemical while fighting in the
Vietnam War and his daughter was born with a mysterious disease. Amy was saved
by the Creator who gave her super powers and transformed her into Sensation. She
was abandoned when the voices in her head made her unstable. Sensation went on
to join the Nixed Men, a small criminal outfit, before reforming and adopting
the name She-Dragon.
The voices in She-Dragon's head were those of the Eternal Youths, godly
offspring who were able to communicate with her across dimensions. She-Dragon
has limited mental abilities, the likes of which are undetermined, and enhanced
physical strength.

Rex Dexter, the original Battle Tank, created a protective body armor
which gives the wearer super-strength, the ability to fly, and the ability to
emit powerful laser beams.
After Rex mutated into a demon like creature during his trials in the Void,
he could no longer use his Battle tank armor. Dragon, asked his old police
partner, and long-time friend, Alex Wilde to continue the role of the Battle
Tank hero.
Alex Wilde is the only other being from Dragon's old reality to cross over to
his new one on the "Savage" World. She followed Dragon through a portal
that was opened at a time when Dragon was crossing between realities.

Though
old and feeble, Rex Dexter made up for his limitations with his super-genius
intelligence. Rex has invented many fantastic gadgets, one of which was the
Battle Tank armor, which he used to help save the world from various evil
menaces.
While searching the Void for his daughter's missing body guard, Rex was
captured by the villain Deathseed. Eventually saved by Jennifer Dragon, the
ordeal had mysteriously caused Rex to develop demon-like features similar to
that of Deathseed.
Rex's new monstrous features seem to have given him heightened strength and
agility as well as the ability to fly with the new set of wings he has grown.
Although he was always moody, Rex seems to have become very paranoid and more
withdrawn lately. Jennifer is keeping a close eye on him, fearing that their may
be a bad side to Rex's new abilities.
Since the Battle Tank armor is of no more use to him, Rex has allowed Alex
Wilde to wield the power.

Vanguard
joined the Kalyptan military as all of his people do but instead of claiming
glory that others have have achieved by serving in the Grand Central Alliance,
he was given a bum assignment. Vanguard was stationed at the remote region of
the galaxy where Earth is situated.
He has spent nearly a decade now protecting the Earth from his people's
enemies, the Tyruss Combine, despite the fact that these foes have no knowledge
of this remote region of space. Vanguard has made the most of his time and has
become close allies with the world's superheroes, aiding them in battling
against numerous threats. He and his robotic companion Wally continue to serve
out their assignment, orbiting the earth from the safety of their large
starship.

Jill
August witnessed bullying from a very early age. Her mother was constantly being
beaten by her father, friends at school were often assaulted by the coach. When
she was assaulted by thugs in a Detroit bar and pushed backward into a dart
board, she instinctively hurled darts and impaled the attackers with pin-point
accuracy.
Jill took up the costumed guise of Dart upon discovering her deadly ability
and quickly trained in a number of martial arts skills to improve upon her
natural talent. Dart began a respected career defending the city of Detroit,
occasionally teaming with the self-obsessed Kill-Cat, who was convinced his
female ally had a crush on him. It couldn't be further from the truth.
After about three years of service as a vigilante, Dart was hired away by the
Chicago Police Department. While attempting to stop a massive super-villain jail
break, she was overpowered by a villain that was attempting
to sexually assault her. Another villain, the shark-man named Mako, witnessed
this and killed the villain. (Mako had been unable to
prevent the rape of his sister and refused to allow another to suffer this
fate).
Mako was targeted for his betrayal
but he managed to take Dart with him to an uncharted island in the Coral
Sea. About this time massive alien invasions occurred on Earth leading
Cyberface to take over the world. Mako, falling for Dart, indulged in
a bit of a lie by telling the heroine that the aliens eradicated
civilization. Being alone on the island and thankful that Mako was her
saviour the two began a relationship.
Dart remained happily on this island
home for years until three super humans washed up on the beach, having had
their makeshift raft destroyed by a sea monster. The survivors--Barbaric,
Horridus and Ricochet; pointed out to Dart that humanity still existed,
although the world was under the control of the insanely powerful CyberFace.
Knowing that he could not keep his
lover on this island, Mako steals an Atlantean vessel that takes them all
back to the United States. Dart eventually breaks-up with Mako due to the
falsehoods she had been told.
Mako grows desperate without Dart and abducts her back to the Coral Sea
island . Dragon is informed and confronts Mako on his island. A fight
ensues and Dart is fatally wounded by Mako when he mistakenly thought that
it was Dragon approaching him.

William
Jonson served the Chicago Police Department for many years, becoming a detective
of great skill and ability. He remained in this role until the Martian invasion
of 1997 that pretty much decimated the planet, and caused the Chicago PD to
disband and scatter.
Fearing a life serving CyberFace, who had seized power following the invasion,
Jonson dug out the costume of the former vigilante known as Star.
William, with his lover and partner Rita Medermade, A.K.A the Red Giant, have
remained in the Danger Zone as the area’s premiere defenders, protecting
innocent civilians and cleaning up the area from the numerous gangs and monsters
that roam within.
